I designed the landscape for these dog friendly cottages in Ely, Cambridgeshire, in 2018. I worked closely with the owners to provide a relaxing space for both two, and four legged guests to enjoy safely. These considerations, along with difficult soil conditions, led to a fairly reduced plant palette. I am very happy to see how the planting scheme is developing. Swathes of Calamagrostis, and summer perennials including Veronicastrum, Persicaria, Verbena, Sanguisorba and Geranium look particularly striking against the traditional black cottages.
