Creative concept for Cavendish garden

June, 2024

A concept presented to my clients last week.

When dealing with oddly shaped gardens, I find that curves are usually the answer to take the emphasis away from the sharp angles.

This is a small space, but the clients require a lot from it, with areas to entertain their extended family, as well as more intimate spaces to relax and enjoy the planting and visiting wildlife.

Lush planted areas and painted fences will blur the boundaries and make the space feel larger. Two strategically placed trees will provide screening and shade, as well as encouraging birds into the garden.

When my clients moved in last year, the space was dominated by a large garage, which formed part of the rear boundary, and the rest of the space was covered in decrepit sandstone paving with hardly any planting. This will be a true transformation.
